I hear you and enjoyed your comments. I hear that from others here, or have been here as well, and hopefully BWN is/will listen to customer feedback (smile). That is why feedback, I think is important, to provide different points of view and insight on what guys see, think, and would like to see.
I just hope my references to my connection of wrestling for me and the awakening of my gay urges of physical contact with other males, did not indicate my primary focus was sex! Wrestling, again for me, whether competitive or messing around (and I am speaking from my own dozens and dozens of wrestling encounters over the years, competitive, submission, erotic, oil, etc.) had many elements to it, the challenge, the desire for domination/humiliation, test of strength and endurance, the desire for the feel and smell of sweat (from armpits, crotches, etc.), the fact most matches are barefoot, and the many other ways wrestling can combine with our individual fetishes and desires, and turn ons.
From the Friday night chats, I have also listened and learned, not all the guys who join in, buy videos, physically wrestle. So, the focus for them may be different than those who see wrestling leaning more to their percentage of sport vs the eroticism and as foreplay to sex! I can see both sides, because I have experienced wrestling based on sport and eroticism, and to be honest wrestling for me is sex just through the body contact, whether competitive or not.
I have expressed my own desires to see more storylines, different locations (hotel rooms; brother brings up room service and one word leads to another, ending in a wrestling match; bedrooms—Bed Matches (two tops hook up and can’t decide who will top so they challenge each other to wrestle for it), living room (two guys watching a Football or Basketball games turns into wrestling), outdoors; (two brothers camping ends in wrestling), other more natural set ups/preludes to a match vs, just guys hitting the mat. As well as seeing better wrestling holds/positions, but then many of the guys I don’t think really have much wrestling experience. I can relate because most black guys, like myself did not wrestle in school, so for me, I had to learn from watching, gaining more experience from my own matches, etc.
Again, I hear, understand, and have commented on some of the same or similar frustrations, but how do we balance that with the fact BWN is the only wrestling site, since Old Reliable stopped doing wrestling videos years ago, that you can find and see black males wrestling other black males. This is rare, if at all with BG/BG Enterprise, On Top, and other videos, or porn movies pretending to have a wrestling theme that is either really awful, and/or the wrestling last five or ten minutes if that!
My comments regarding BWN, were based on many factors. For me, as a black male (like so many other guys here) that got my first introduction into the connection of realizing gay urges, was awakened by seeing male contact, and that was through professional wrestling and/or classic gladiator (Sword and Sandal) movie fight/wrestling scenes, Tarzan (hot barefoot, man to man scenes like in Tarzan and the Great River, with Mike Henry, and Gordon Scott…..). The bottom line, I can’t speak for others, but I was aroused then, and as I discovered gay wrestling videos, I am aroused now, I won’t deny my dick gets hard! LOL!
The subject you mention “the matches lack the true eroticism one would expect from an underground wrestling site.” I agree the potential is there. BWN providing the number of black guys wrestling, means a lot of them are more gay-for-pay, and not really gay or even bi, so the action may be scripted, or the wrestler has limitations, that’s my guess. Getting back the issue of so many black guys not having formal wrestling experience, it can show up on the wrestling mat where it may not seem natural.
I love the discussion, and hearing, exchanging our desires and points of view on what we like, who like to see, and enjoy from BWN.
I know BWN needs to sell new content because it is a business and I ain’t mad at em, but I admit I do find myself going back to some of the older BWN wrestling tapes and DVDs when matches like Storm vs Erotico, Xtasy, and Inferno, which all I think had a good balance of wrestling and eroticism (well they made my dick hard, so I may be biased, LOL), and the African series was good for those who wanted it all competitive.
What would be your description of the kind of match you would buy and enjoy? I know I have my Wishlist (smile).
